Overnight Groups
The following information will hopefully answer most of your questions about this great opportunity to use our facility and enjoy the great skiing at Mount Snow at the lowest possible lodging cost to your group.

Our church is located three miles south of Mount Snow on Route 100 in West Dover, VT.  Our landmark facility is 140 years old, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It was renovated in 1985, and the basement was upgraded in 1997 for the purpose of providing multiple uses including hosting overnight groups.

The Church basement features a large open room that is 30’ x 35’ which can host up to 33 people on cots that we provide. We have cable color television, folding chairs and tables for dining or relaxing after skiing. The room can be separated in several different ways via portable partitions on wheels. There are two separate lavatories on the upper floor, and showers are available at nearby Snow Lake Lodge. The worship area is above the basement and is used each Sunday from 8:30 -11 a.m. The church is smoke-free, alcohol-free and does not allow pets.

A separate kitchen features two stoves, a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, pots, pans, dishware and flatware.

This year we added a downstairs bathroom with two sinks, toilet and a shower!

We are one block from the local bus stop that serves Mount Snow and all attractions in the region. The bus is free and stops at approximately 15 minutes past the hour going northbound to Mount Snow and returns about 45 minutes past the hour southbound coming from Mount Snow between 7 am and 6 pm daily.

A rough layout is below. The church is completely wired for fire alarms, and meets all applicable state fire codes. It is heated with a central oil hot air system.  WE HAVE RECENTLY INSTALLED A NEW 52" FLAT SCREEN TV.

The price is just $30 per person for two nights, $25 for one night, $45 for three night stays and $60 for four nights.. There is no tax or service charge. Most winter weekends require a two night stay. Other conditions may apply.

A reservation deposit of $100 is due within seven days of making a reservation. Final payment is due upon arrival in cash or check. Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to arrival will be refunded in full, but cancellations received less than 30 days will be credited toward a future stay up to one year from the original reservation date. Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, and Easter Weekend are not available. We ask that that your group provide a minimum of three adult chaperones including one designated group leader. If that is not possible we can discuss other arrangements. Deposit checks should be made payable to the West Dover Congregational Church, and should be mailed to Randy Schoonmaker, Box 886, West Dover, VT 05356.

BOOK EARLY!!!!!!!

Driving Directions: Take Route 95 to Route 91. In Vermont take Exit #2 off I-91. Go right off the exit onto Route 9 west, and follow this 19 miles until you come to the only stoplight in Wilmington. Go right at the light onto Route 100 North. Follow 6 miles. West Dover Village is on your right, and there is the church.

We ask that the basement be vacated between 8:30 - 11 a.m. on Sunday so that we may use the facility for Sunday School, Bible Study and child care. We ask groups to either attend church with us or be outside skiing, having breakfast, etc. during that time. You are welcomed to come back after 11 a.m. to change, finish packing, etc. and depart prior to 5 p.m. Sunday evening. Prior to 8:30 a.m. we ask that you move your belongings to a corner of the room that we will partition off for you so we can conduct Bible study and Sunday School.

A key will be left outside the church prior to your arrival. Groups should let themselves in. Randy will stop by Saturday evening to see how you are doing and to collect your final payment. If you need any help call 464-3081. Cots, tables and chairs will be stacked in the room for you to set up to your own liking. Upon departure we require that these items be put back in their original location. The church sanctuary, utility rooms, offices etc. will be locked during your stay. We ask that your group respect our beautiful church.  AA uses the sanctuary for their meeting from around 6-8 p.m. but they will not disturb you.  To contact the group while staying at the church call 802-464-1195.Groups using the church phone may make free local and 800# calls but will need a calling card to make long distance calls.

We are looking forward to hosting your group, and we hope that we have answered most of your questions. Please call me if you have any questions.

Thanks again for your interest in staying at our church!!
